TROPICAL BAIRRO
Location: Rua de São Cristóvão 3 (Hours: Mon-Sat 11:00-14:00 / 15:00-19:00)
If you’re looking to do some amazing vintage thrifting while you’re in Lisbon, this hole-in-the-wall is packed full of amazing finds!! The owner handpicks everything in the store and curates the collection perfectly! There are dressing rooms to try on the items so you can make sure it fits before you buy.
There are items like men’s button up shirts, leather jackets, vintage denim jackets, women’s dresses, pants, and women’s blouses! The prices were super reasonable for the quality of items you’ll get.
I bought a few shirts and a really fun pair of red pants while Zoe bought a cute button up with sailboats on it. Thrifting in Lisbon is so different than in the states because the quality of items is already higher and the options are way better!
I highly recommend going here and picking up a few fun new items for your wardrobe. They take cash and card! If you go here, leave a comment below to let me know what you bought!
THE PORTUGUESE CONCEPT
Location: Rua Nova do Almada 26 (Hours: 11:00-19:00)
This quaint little boutique is in the Chiado area of Lisbon and it’s surrounded by a lot of other stores, coffee shops and restaurants. They have another location in LX Factory, west of Lisbon, and that is their original location. I only went to the Chiado store and loved the selection of items!
They mostly have gift items like candles, sunglasses, jewelry, and bags, but they also have really unique clothing. Their jewelry is what really caught my eye here though!
They had everything under the sun regarding jewelry: adjustable rings, ear-cuffs, huggies, dainty necklaces, hoops, flat-back earrings, bracelets, and even jewelry cases.
I ended up buying hundreds of dollars worth of items here because the price range was too good for me to pass up. I bought a pair of sunglasses for €25, all necklaces were also €25. Zoe and I both bought a genuine leather belt for €35. The prices are amazing and their items are perfect for gifts!
I got my sister and mom both a cute item here and the store associate packaged it up very cute! These are pieces that will live in my wardrobe for a very long time and will forever remind me of Portugal.
They unfortunately don’t have a website (a common occurrence for businesses in Portugal) so definitely buy the items you want while you’re here, otherwise you won’t be able to shop them later. They take cash and card.
They’re open every day until 7:00 PM and have so many other options in store that I don’t have pictured here. I could’ve spent all day here, seriously. Shopping in Lisbon can be tricky if you don’t know where to start or just follow the big “mall” signs. Trust me, you’ll want to visit The Portuguese Concept before leaving Lisbon!
LIVRARIA BERTRAND
Location: Rua Garrett 73 (Hours: 9:00-22:00)
This bookstore is the oldest bookstore in Europe!! Founded in 1732, it’s claimed by Guinness World Records to be the oldest bookstore still in operation. We had to add this store to our Lisbon bucket list and you should too!
With rooms and rooms that seem never-ending, you’re certain to find a book or keepsake that you’ll want to take home with you. Most of their books are in Portuguese but they have a section dedicated to English and Spanish books! We got a few gifts here and a coffee table book for our living room.
Being that Portugal is the oldest country in Europe, it only seems fitting to visit the oldest bookstore in Europe too! Grab a cup of coffee or a pastry at the back of the store and relish in the fact you’re exploring Livraria Bertrand in Lisbon, Portugal!!
You can shop their wide range of books, magazines, kids toys, games, and more in their online store and they even offer guidance on which books and gifts you should purchase. They host in-person events and have a great blog full of resources to help you find the perfect book for your needs.
If you’re looking for more reasons to visit Lisbon, read my blog post about why Lisbon should be on your bucket list!!
ÁS DE ESPADAS
Location: Rua Da Conceição, No. 117/119 (Hours: 11:30-20:00)
You obviously love shopping in Lisbon if you made it this far down! I had to add another vintage thrift store to this list because Lisbon is full of so many great ones! This store was bigger and had more variety than Tropical Bairro. This store had full racks of vintage sequin dresses and full racks of women’s denim shorts. They also had a great collection of bags all over the store.
I did notice the prices are a bit more expensive than Tropical Bairro but I still feel like they were fair. This store is a great spot to grab a unique piece from Lisbon before heading back home. They have two stores in Lisbon, so definitely check them out!

Thank you for all of the wonderful places to visit while in Lisbon! My husband and I are wanting to take a trip there. I can’t wait to go to LIVRARIA BERTRAND, the oldest bookstore and go to the cute boutiques! This is very helpful!
